Put my name down for one at last :)

Found myself an X5 at last - or more suprisingly it found me via where I work !

Considering I originally wanted a prefacelift 4.4 or 4.6 in black ive ended up with a Gray 4.8 facelift

It does have some noticable and some niggly issues that ill need to sort out before its gets driven but hoping they are nothing too bad - could be a risk or an opportunity

From what I know its got the following issues :
One remote wont unlock the doors but will start the car
The drivers front window is a bit noisy and slow in operation
There are a coule of buttons missing from the AC panel and the pixes are going funny
The passenger side rear suspension is low
The parking sensors just beep and flash when you push the button
A few small oil mistings above and below the engine

Other than that it seems pretty good and with low miles and service history it was too good an offer to turn down - only time will decide if its a good move !

Better get finding me a friendly forum , a workshop manual and some tinkering time !

Remote needs to be re-programmed. Thats a 3 second job you can do yourself (get inside vehicle and close all doors and windows, put good key in ignition and turn to accessories 1 position for a second or three, then turn off and remove key. Hold unlock button down then and press lock button three times then let go all buttons. X5 should lock and unlock doors to confirm vehicles locking module and that key are now synced, so now sync the other keys by pressung buttons on that key same ss first key.

Drivers frontnwindoe probably needs window regulator lsider clios and window clips replaced. Cheap and relatively essy 3-4 hours fi
Or first time.. lots of videos on youtube and even discussions here. Parts to get and where from.
I know cause i just had to do this a few weeks ago and the key progrsmming too funny enough.

Missing buttons can be replaced by you too easily

The resr airbag suspension most likely needs a new Arnott (Brand name) airbag. Easy job i hear and sbout $300 for parts and shipping with lifetime warranty.

COonstant beeping pdc means sensors stopped working. Amazon and ebay sellers selling sensors which looks exactly like bmw sensors for about $15-30 each. Easy to install. You just need to learn how to remove bumpers. Easy to do the front. And to lesrn WHICH sensors you replace, turn vehicle onto accessories 2 position and turn on pdc button and put your ear to each sensor 4 front/4 rear and listen for high speed ticking. If they tick, they work.

if my spelling sucks in this post its cause im typing on a tablet.

Some great info there Clockwork

I didnt know if the pdc might be as it has a fixed towbar instead of a detatchable one but I cant believer someone would pay to fit something that would effect something else and be happy with it !

Hopefully picking up this week so will get some dirty "before loving" pictures
