Congrats! I thought the 4.8is came out as a 2005 model in late '04...

no '04 was the 1st model year, the only difference is the speed limiter (130 on the '04s (according to C&D) and 153 on the '05/'06)

Do you know what some of the minor differences are? I think it just comes to down to few options but I'm not sure.

I don't believe the 04's were standard with comfort seats, power reclining rear seats, and bluetooth.

Anyone want to clarify?

I think you're right alano, bt was in the '05s, power reclining seats have been in all facelifted x5s, and comfort seats were optional, plus I think you could get estroil blue instead of lemans

Bluetooth became std with 2005 and mp3 with 2006 I believe. Heated steering option started with 2005. Comfort seats were no charge option for 2005 and 2006 and probably 2004.

This one was manufactured July -04.

From what I've read, BT retrofit is fairly straight forward, that will likely be mod # 1 along with BSW speakers(I did this in the 3.0).

I don't believe I have comfort seats as it's missing the small extra shoulder comfort button on the seats. Also, I can't see the power rear seat button in the pictures.

I guess I'll find out on Friday.
