Smile NEW BATTERY INSTALL

Well finally got my new battery today and installed it. It's a 95AH With 900CCA and quite a stylish looking thing too!, although that doesnt really mater in this case.

PICS OF THE TRUNK

Removed the dome to get at the battery

Old battery out and beside new one

Old battery details

Removed the breather pipe from the old battery and istalled on the new one

Finally new battery in place and all wired up. Looks quite neat too compared to the old one

that's a nice looking battery!
Must be a UK brand, never seen anything like that in the US.

Its basically an EXIDE battery thats sold through a chain of Motor Stores here called Motoquip. But I think you guys can get EXIDE no problem. Their web site is: http://www.exide.com/

Looks like a great job. I checked for an Excide battery in Canada but no luck, apparantly Exide Worldwide only reaches as far as the US border, too bad.

I liked your pictures, how did you get the positive terminal off, I don't see a nut. Is it concealed? I'm a little nervous about doing mine as I hear all kinds of stories about aitbags going off, electical setting being lost and the emergency battery disconnect firing.

Jim, it's cake; the pos quick disconnect shields snap off and the bolts
holding both neg & poz terminal are easy. Just take off neg first, and
tape & tuck it so it isn't hitting metal/ground. It's a half hour job, start
to finish, at worst. See my link with pics; also at end of my first post
is another link with arrows to "turtle" bolt location removal. Your wife
or GF could do the swap, ;>)

I have never heard any horror stories when disconnecting the battery? there are one or two lights that come on, but they reset after driving a few yards. The positive nut is hidden under a small cover that flips up.

I changed to an Exide battery 3 years ago. Came with a 92 month pro-rated warranty.
What does an Exide cost over there?
