Brake Fluid Change - synthetic DOT4 fluid or no?

hey, sorry if i'm beating a dead horse on this one, but i cant seem to find it in the forums...

going to do a brake fluid change for 01 3.0i, from the forums it seems like any major brand DOT4 brake fluid will do the job.

my question... im seeing Valvoline synthetic DOT4 brake fluid at my local autozone... am I supposed to get synethic or non-synthetic DOT4 fluid, or does it not matter?

and how much (quantity-wise) do i need for a change? a 1 quart bottle?

thanks!
