Sport steering wheel

Has anyone retrofitted a 04-05 X5 sport steering wheel in a 2001 model. If so..what kind of pricing did you get. I want to get rid of my 4 spoke wheel and add the sport wheel.

Philip

I know folks that have put a pre-2004 sport wheel into a 2004/2005 model, so there's no reason that I can think of why going the opposite direction won't work.

Personally, I would opt for the M3/M5 wheel instead of the 04/05 wheel, but everyone has their own preferences.

Plus you won't need a new airbag. Although the people who've done the M wheel mod probably have a new style airbar lying around (but it can't be legally shipped AFAIK).

I have the 4 spoke. It does not have the round sport airbag.

My mistake. I thought the new sport wheel in '04 plus models was the new airbag and prior years had one that would fit in the M wheel.
