If your ride had iDrive you could set it via that, however, no iDrive means you need the dealer to do it I believe.

Paul,
Specific to each and every model, year, market and fitted options is a list of items that can be programmed. Some for the car and some for each users key. I cannot find my X5 printout but this is for my Z4 done in May, which should give you an idea (excuse the dealers poor photocopy): Ask your dealer for a printout of options specific to you. Drop the car and keys in and he can programme whatever you select.
