Which is good obd2 scanner for BMW 2004 X5?
I want to get error codes myself?

We have a cheapie from Advance Auto Parts I just picked up this week, I think it was like $79.99, pulls the codes just fine and you can even reset them as well with this unit. I wouldn't dump a ton into one, the ones advance auto has will work just fine. I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet....but I am sure I will.

I was looking at picking up this.

It has a BMW specific module.

Kinda pricey compared to generic scanners but it rated the best I think in the roundel.

I just bought the autoenginuity scanner with the BMW module a few weeks ago.
I'm very happy with it. It was expensive, but it is much more powerful than the other scanners on the market. I think the extra money spent will pay for itself soon enough. Plus its cool to see all the real time readouts of the various engine sensors, etc!!

You can save about 50 bucks if you buy the scanner from autoenginuity on eBay. They sell them direct for $190-200. Just do a search on eBay to find their auctions.

i just ordered the peake research tool. it has just been upgraded for version 3 and i bought the universal one since we have a 98 323 convertible too...

autoenginuity expansion pack does not support N62 engines and 6 speed transmissions.

Other than resetting the fault codes what does the Autogeninuity tool let you do bmw specific?

From the information you can do a few things like cycle abs. Is there anything else it can do?
