Newbie has some questions

Hello,
I picked up 02 X5 month ago and I have couple issues.

1. Cannot figure out how to activate headlamp washer.
2. Low beam on 24/7 even if I choose automatic position.

Does anyone know how to fix these issues? I really don't like to go to the Dealer.

1-Headlamp washer: push in the end of the right steering wheel stalk
where it says "S"; that stands for Super Wash: will squirt windows and
headlights...uses lots of squirter. To just squirt the windshield, pull back
that right stalk gentle but firmly...every few windshield squirt actions also
squirts headlamps automatically.

2-You probably have the every popular DRLs on, as it is the
GWN. Dunno about "automatic"; I assume you can go to
highbeams when you want to...

First post question here gets a pass...I suggest reading the Manual:
that seldom cracked lil' black book in your glove box, or Linked Below,
Or found on Line #8 on the Contents/Index Page or Home Page of this
great site.

Welcome to The Board.

Daylight running lights are mandatory in Canadia which is OK but you don't get the rear lights on with that, I can't figure why you can't get all four corners lit for daylight running (of course BMW batteries are legendary). I've got a SAAB too and all the lights are on all the time, as are the panel lamps, I rarely have to switch the main lights on, only when it's really dark.

It threw me when I first drove the X5, scared me too when I realized I had no rears.

Read the manual, it would cover both those issues.
