New '04 X5 now in my driveway. Got factory hitch for $420 too. Questions...
Got the dealer to sell me the factory hitch parts for $420 so that was a no-brainer vs Curt or others. I'll put it on this weekend. Ordered the BSW XM parts and will get that in too. 18x9 TSW wheels on order to mount my 255/55-18 Hankook IceBears for the winter. Now that I have it, a couple of questions: Can we change the Nav to get rid of the lawyer screen every time I start the car? On the Audis there was a tweak that could be done to make that go away forever. Can I reprogram the door locks so they don't lock every time I put it in gear? And the locks don't unlock without pushing the button on the console. Again, I have Audi software on my laptop that allowed me to make these changes myself. Can't seem to find similar BMW software. I'm sure I'll discover other things I don't know about over time, but now it's time to enjoy the X5. This is going to tow my 911 track car a whole lot better than the Audi. BTW- the internet manager at Perillo BMW in Chicago was first class. I'd been trying to buy online and several of the "internet managers" were nothing more than pushy sales people who just wanted to call me to discuss which kind of defeats the purpose of online negotiating. But she was professional and prompt in responding to my questions. Made the entire purchase seamless.
