Predator ICE as DRL on '06 X5?
Sorry to cover old ground, but I've searched a lot and can't seem to find a definitive answer. On the umnitza page it says "Can be Wired as Daytime Running Light Operation as standard", which I take to mean that there is a way to install them that turns off the regular DRLs and just turns on the angel eyes. But I have not been able to find instructions on how to do this for the X5.
So, my question is, if I get the predator ICE, can I use the angel eyes for DRL and turn off the factory DRLs? How do I accomplish that? Do I have to go to the dealer? Thanks! |

I have predator ice on my X5 right now and yes I did try to use it as DRL but it was way too dim to be used as such. During the day you can barely see the lighted rings standing right in front of it.
Try the angelibright as I think they're considerably brighter than predator ice.

thanks for your help, I'll look at the angelbright. But that did not really answer my question.
What I wanted to know is if by installing any vendor's angel eye brightness kit, I can disable the DRLs via the install through wiring somehow, or if I still have to go to the dealer to disable the DRLs. I hate going to the dealer
