$220 for ft & re brake job. fair price?

Just changed front & Rear brake pads with sensors in my friend's repair shop for my 03 X5 , also clear up the "brake" light in dashboard. He said he put aftermarket good quality brake pads and sensors, and he only charge me $220. Just wonder it is a good and fair price ??

That is a ridiculously low price!! Hope he did what he says.

I haven't had a brake job for less than $800.

That is a fair price for pads-only, but I really hope you and your mechanic measured and inspected your rotors thoroughly before deciding not to replace them. How many miles since the last brake job?

Yup, just did mine including rotors for ~$800, including Axxis Deluxe pads.

I just got the X5 two months ago, it has 39K miles now. All four rotors seem still in decent condition, so he didn't ask me to change or re-cut them. And I have no idea how long ago my X5 had brake changed. I guess it should be long time ago, because the "brake " light even came on yesterday before I had the brake changed !!

FYI...my front rotors worn down to below the minimum thickness on my first set of pads change at about 30k miles. The rear rotors were OK and were reused.
