2004 BMW X5 CPO Question

I just got a 2004 CPO two weeks ago and noticed a few things wrong with it. I have gone back and spoke with the manager and they said that they can fix some of my concerns but what about this one?

Am I too anal about this or is this a real concern that BMW can fix...

I can't get the pics to show well so please excuse the poor quality. But is that normal or I should have BMW fix that? Its like when they detailed the car or something...the vacuumed the heck out of the pillars that the carpet came lose or somethng.

Asides from that a few more things wrong:
1. Rubber seal on all 4 doors ripped as in you can put fingers in holes
2. Cluster says CHECK BACK UP LIGHTS
3. Big gouge on the black plastic part of the driver side bumper
4. Drive side brake lights out as I was driving it home

Now, the sales rep said, no way they put a car in their lot with that much problems. I don't know how many 300+ point check BMW does before reselling their CPO vehicles but I think this one failed especially with that big gash on the bumper. Its like you take a screw driver and drive it hard and makes a mark and the black part of the bumper even bulges out due to the hole. I think the detail guys got did that but doesn't want to fess up to it or something.

Going to the dealer this saturday to address these issues. I'm just so excited to see how much of the problems they are going to address.

things that should be replaced under warranty by the dealer:
The door gaskets
PDC sensors/module (common problem)
Brake light (Common problem)

The pillars they may not do anything about but you never know....
the big gouge you should have mentioned as part of the price negotiation for this purchase. I wouldnt expect the dealer to do anything about this...

that 300+ point check is really a marketing tactic. they mainly go by mileage and book value, buy low, sell high... etc...

good luck

Is your car still under the original 4yrs/50k warranty? CPO only takes over after the original warranty expire. If so, the original warranty will cover the pillars. My pillars are doing the exact same thing (although not as bad as yours yet...just a few "bubble" spots), but I have NEVER touched them. I'm gonna have them address the pillars (along with the stupid cup holder clips) next month when I take it in to have my last brake fluid flush under the free maintenance.

Thumbs down

I have the bubbles also. They just appeared one day. This pic is from the day I noticed them... now there are many more!

thanks dkl...yes, mine is still under the 4 yr/50k warranty. I will definitely bring it up on my visit to the dealer tomorrow. Wow, so it does occur on most X5s then huh.

I just thought it was just on the one I got. Good to know...
