The OEM HIDs are powered by the headlight harness, the fogs use a separate circuit that is designed to power a halogen setup not an HID setup which requires an initial larger surge of power but operates at less power draw after start up.

Yes, this kit, when available (3-4 weeks), will solve the problem.

This makes sense because I have found that mine light up with no issues if I wait to turn on the fogs about 10 minutes after cranking the X. I figured this gives the system enough time to stabilize.

It happens because the LCM sends out small amount of voltage to see if the lights are out or not

DDM has an accessory wiring harness for $20 that I installed and so far it seems to have solved my issue.

No, they don't - I installed these months ago and they did not solve the issue of partial start-ups.

I wired mine with a relayed wiring harness directly off the battery. Takes a bit more time this way, but I prefer the independent control through a custom switch any how.
