Thanks for your help u guys .. I finally figured it out .... I was pressing the tone portion of the select button.. i didnt know that the select button had two funtions... but i got in and voila ...im an idoit... maybe a bimmer is just too sopisticated for me...

Hi, Fatboyz...here you go..I dont know if this depends on the year of the radio/nav unit but heres how i did it... 1. Turn key to position 1 (accessory) 2. if radio is on turn it off then on again 3. Hold down the Tone/Select button (hold down the select side of the button beacause this button has two functions) Hold it down until the menu changes and you will see your serial number at the top 4. use the < > button to navigate and you will see the area that its currently set on.
