Depends on your model year, man. I have read that the later models are impossible to open up. Peep the articles on the home page under the lighting section.

so i see that it is recommended to use a heat gun. does anyone think that the headlights can tolerate the oven at a low temp(approxx 10 min @ 200*)?

I think it's best to invest in a heat gun, so as not to ruin your $1500 headlight assembly. You want to direct the heat at the seal, not any other parts of the assembly. Your oven can't direct heat at a specific part of the assembly unless it's set to broil. So, the moral is- heat gun is the way to go and warm up some pizza in the oven so you can have a tasty snack once you've completed your DIY.
