UK*X5 is on a distinguished road
Unhappy MY X5d WENT BANG !
Today I was driving my X5 3.0d Auto (2001) and when I put my foot down to overtake I heard a Bang from under the bonnet/hood ,the car suffered a loss of power.
I slowly I limped the car to a friend who is a motor mechanic to ask his advice.
On inspection we could see that the rocker cover/case had a large crack and was leaking oil.
He thinks it has thrown a rocker hence the cracked cover.
I left the X5 with the friend as he will take the cover off during the week to inspect it properly , I await his report.
Does anyone know of such a fault?
