Congrats! I know you must be thrilled to finally have your new X5 in your own garage. The 'other' car looks pretty cool too. Enjoy!!

You think that BMW will be able to detect that your car has had a tuneit box fitted? WOuld this invalidate the warranty?
Not sure how they can?

The box remaps the turbo and fuel pressure or something similar. As far as I know the engine managment system/chip just goes back to how it was prior to installation.

What this space...

So have you got any pics of the tuneit it box installed? pics of smoke? or anything else?? How easy is it really to install! any details?

Not very good photos and the cable from the Tunit box does disappear under the engine cover but here they are...

The injectors have a plug on top of them and you plug the cable from the box in line. Reading the paperwork that comes with it it only adjusts the injectors and doesn't adjust turbo boost.

I used cable ties to secure the cables rather than let them float around the engine bay.

That little box looks neat and tidy.
I take it the adjustment pot is on the box itself.

I'll post better pictures of the X5/Caddy combination in about a weeks time.
Quite busy just now.
The caddy is being prepared for the urban jungle.
Extra rubbing strips on the side.
Not pretty but functional.
The Caddy steering by the way is electrically assisted.
It makes the strangest sounding interference to the radio,
when it is set to AM.
Like something from the twilight zone.
It's a great little vehicle,
different driving style required
as you have to change up a gear earlier than normal as it has so much torque low down.

By the way, I got the front and rear mudflaps today.
Will fit them pre pictures.
Also got some neat little plastic do-daas from my tractor dealer,
he keeps such things about him, this I knew,
that I'll use on the rear flaps to help the sticky bits stay in place better.
As they say, a picture speaks a 1000 words.
Wait a week or so until I get time to do the fit.
Also should get the proper 2005-2 GPS DVD tomorrow,
High Version, NOT Professional.

Also, I noticed on the rear floor mounted console(fresh air vents),
there are video in/out connectors present.
As the TV module is fitted,
and it has an AV channel select setting,
I take it that this selects the rear video input as the current program?
And the video out can be used to feed headrest monitors, using a splitter?
