X5 4.4 spark plug removal

Does anyone know what size socket is needed for the spark plugs on a 2005 X5 4.4i? (It has the N62 engine) Is it a 16mm, 18mm, 21mm ??? Thanks.

Get a socket designed for spark plug removal, a six sided deep socket (instead of the conventional 12 sided) and an insert to hold the plug in the socket. I don't remember what size socket I used, but you really should have a complete set of sockets and a torque wrench anyways.

I'm pretty sure it's 16 mm.
