04 x5 sirius/ipod question...

I am looking at a CPO x5 that has the regular (non DSP) audio system. Could I add the bmw/sirius module and have an ipod conection as well? Would I be able to control everything from the steering wheels? How much would that be? Is it an easy DIY?

Thank you.

According to iPod Your BMW dot com, the iPod interface is not available for cars with satelite radio.

I have the iPod interface, and I do control everything via the steering wheel.

I believe that if you use the BMW Sirius system and get the CD changer pass-through cable that you can use the Dension IceLink Plus setup in order to have both.

Worst case scenario is you can install the Sirius kit and is the Aux input for the iPod.

Circle BMW has the best deal on the Sirius set up. Not sure which antenna they are selling, but Crutchfield has the low profile antenna for $37.99 and here is a cool little install trick for the antenna. http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...2&highlight=xm

I currently have the Ice-Link Plus up and running with text and steering wheel controls. Awesome system, just need to ad Sat now.

The Sirius system will run around $347 or you can go the XM Direct route for $230.

The ice>Link Plus and BMW's Sirius work together perfectly. PM me your email address and I will send you Dension's BMW Supplement that will explain the kits in more detail.

I use the AUX input for my iPod--I can control the volume from the steering wheel, not the tracks, but I use a small RF remote for the tracks which works great. The Sirius is awesome too!
