Hi Folks ,
Can some one tell me how to change odometer reading from Miles to Km and vice versa . I have a 2005 X5 4.4 which I recently purchased from US. Thanks in advance.

I think you need to go to the dealer and reset it with the GTI1 BMW porgaming diginostic computer

Any indy shop with Modic or the other variant can do it for you. I learned on my second import into Canada to have that and the DRL's done in the US prior to export. Much cheaper that way. Depending on when you imported said vehicle it is my understanding that if you have not already done the "mod" then it will need to be done by a dealer or at least verified to be compliant. That and you need to have a letter of compliance issued by BMW Canada ($500) prior to being allowed across the border. Where in Canada are you located? If you happen to be in Calgary and already have the vehicle here I would contact either Two Square or Autoleader.

while you are at it there are lots of other things you can customize while you are at it (locks, lighting, etc). the homepage has links to these.

Brian Jessel in Van does this for less than an hour of shop time, including miles to kms. i am not sure if DRLs are included as mine were on from the US.

US speedometers have both mph and kmh so nothing to change there. Changing the odometer to metric is done via GT1. The dealer can do this for you if you don't have the program or know someone that does.
