What's w/the 4.6 front susps. parts wearing out?

Just got my 4.6 back from scheduled service. 27,500 on the clock. Oil/filter, new wiper blades all around, micro filter, rear brake pads (what's with that - front have never been replaced and am told they have a lot left on them) and rear hatch adjusted (not).

I've already had driver's side lower control replaced some time ago. Several thousand miles ago the front end starts making the same kind of noise over bumps on both sides which replacing aforsaid control arm had previously fixed. This time they replaced the stabilizer drop rods (I'm just reading what is on the work order) re-torqued p/steering gear, entire suspension, axle shafts, removed support pan and reinstalled it (they think that was part of the noise). It is all good now, and all was warranty work. But I'm unclear on why this is happening. Hopefully, these parts are upgraded from what came from the factory.

And I can't believe the rear hatch wasn't fixed properly. They told me they had it all apart. First thing I did was pop the lid (that worked). Shut it and it bounced right back open....You've got to hit the latch a 2nd time before closing it to be safe. They'll hear about that tomorrow.

All well, 9 more months on the lease....I better get a good deal on a 4.8

I don't know. I think BMW has had problems with the front susp. I have a 4.4 and they have had the front apart three times trying to fix the problem, few thousand miles later there is still the prob. As for the rear hatch, AAAAHHHH mine does that all the time, I have lost count how many times I have had them look at that. Each time they fix it, NOT

The front control arms are a known weak spot and one can pretty much expect to have them replaced every other 20k .... Once you're out of warranty this can be quite an expensive item

Yeah, but this was more than control arms. Front end is tight again though. All good.

It would me too. If I kept mine past warranty, I'd def. look into an extended one. I think I'm just going to get into something new though.
