Heated Seats / Headlight Washers

Guys,

I have a 04 X5 4.4 loaded but no weather package. Is there a way i can install that. How hard would it be to install heated seats and headlight washers?

I have been looking on ebay if i can find heated seats. But not successful yet. I am new to X5, as i bought the SUV a month back. Please let me know.

Thanlks for the help in advance.

Hi! And :welcome:

1. Headlight washers are actually needed 0.01% of the time. I wouldn't chase that one down.

2. You're in HOUSTON!!!! Why do you need heated seats??? Wouldn't you get better value by adding some performance mods?

I thought by adding the weather package i am adding value to the car. the only reason i am not going for any performance modifications, is because i dont want to void the warranty on the car. I have heard the CPO are very unpredictable regarding warranty work.

But let me ask you this. To your thinking, what do you think would add value to the X5.

Thanks

adding those things (headlight washers and heated seats) will actually lower the resale of your car. Your X has a profile (under the VIN) with what packages and options your vehicle came with from the dealer. As soon as a salesman see's that the headlight washers and heated seats are not a part of the packages that came on your X5 from the factory, he's going to say "your car is modded, there is a very small market of people who want a car so your car will not sell." It's like owning a 4.4 and putting OEM 4.8 wheels on it..... It actually hurts the resale!

engine, chassis, & driveline tuning to make your X more powerful and improve performance that requires modding your software, exhaust, and installing CAI under your hood and more

EDIT: And when you earn 10 points by buying their stuffs, you get a free DINAN badge

yes, lemans is right, even if you add OEM parts, if its not originally part of the vehicle, then its considered modded, and even if you trade that in or sell, that wont add to the value except private part buyers who would appreciate the additions.
