X5 Fart (update) and a *huffing* heat fan

Not too long ago I posted a thread about my farting X5. I took it to an independent yesterday and long story short, without them knowing that the car recently hydrolocked and was repaired with the (apparently) new oil sep valve system, he says that the farts are the oil sep valve. So what does that mean???? I told him it was just replaced. He said, well someone either messed up in the installation OR they never did install it. So back to the stealership it goes tomorrow morning. Stay tuned. Once again, the problem is that you shut off our 3.0i auto and 2 seconds later there's a vacuum sucking noise that is quite loud.

Next......

Our heating system pulses (the fan speed) sometimes on lower to medium speeds. Anyone ever had this ???? Fix ????

Last.........

The *tick* noise has still never been resolved. Noticable from the centre of the dash area while driving. It is not speed related and is not apparent at idle. Sounds like an exhaust cooling after hard driving.

If ANYONE has any ideas, greatly appreciate your input on any of these things.

Cheers

Zulu95........... thanks. That's awesome info and I'll be trying that out to see if it fixes my issue. THANKS !!

1 down, 2 to go.

BTW, Stealership calls me 1/2 hour after dropping her off saying nothing is wrong......... that's there's all kinds of vacuum cannisters and this and that, blah, blah, blah............. total BS. I told them to go look again......... pricks. Thing probably just sat outside doing nothing all morning.

Ok, maybe I'm the prick............. who knows. But got back to the dealership and they showed me another 3.0i (in a sedan) making the same noise after shutoff. Apparently it's normal !?!?!? Anyone else have a 3.0i that abotu 2 seconds after you shut it off, it makes a sucking noise ???

Oh yeah, on pickup of the X, they had left it out front for me .............. with a broken driver's side door handle. Yay !! I got to find that out for myself when I went to try and get in it and couldn't open the door. So she's back there today to be fixed for that now...................

Maybe it's just the vehicle bitch me out for parking her instead of driving the snot out of her again..................... oh well. Going to leave it for now. Dealership fixed the door ............ replaced the carrier thingy.

Alls good except for that *pinging* sound while driving.....sounds like an exhaust cooling off........... not speed related either. Weird. Doesn't do it at idle, so has to be somehow related to some moving part somewhere............. but very puzzling.

Mine just started doing this after replacing the crankcase vent valve. I know it was installed properly, so maybe it's a characteristic of a properly functioning valve.
