Fantastic write up. Have the same problem with my 01 4.4. Will try this weekend. Would this give me P0171 & P0174 System Too Lean ?.....need to replace regardless

thanks stephx5, could not of done this with out the write up. two hrs including clean up. Only problem SES light STILL on!, do i have to reset at shop or will the computer reset by it's self, or is there a manual way to reset...thanks once again

Why would you replace the hoses and not the separator itself? They are all consumables as far as the engineers are concerned.

quick update, did the hoses, got the codes reset, only for them to come on a day later, going back in the weekend for final shot at changing the separator and lower hose, after that.....stealer!, just in time for xmas.....great

Hi dicksx5,

Glad to hear you were able to replace the hoses, and sorry to hear your SES lights are still on. In my case they went out instantly after I started the engine once I replaced the hoses. There maybe another issue keeping your SES lit, if you are in a cold climate the oil separators are known to give out becaue of condensation build up freezing, that maybe something to look at.
