Still searching for a Supercharger for a 4.8is

Anyone have any luck locating performance products including a supercharger for the 4.8is??? Its unbelievable that there are no parts for BMW's fastest X5.

I feel the same way. Outside of powerchips, I've had no luck finding anything.

There really doesnt seem to be much for any of the valvetronic V8 X5s, except from Kelleners which has supercharger kits for both 4.4i (2004+) and 4.8is. Not sure why it's taking so long for other tuners to do something with these engines.

Maybe because most people want to keep their warranty. Thus no urgent desire for aftermarket mods on new vehicles. Also takes time and testing to prove claims of improvement.

Usually supercharger kits come with a supplemental warranty. But it doesnt matter, because there are plenty of people that would do it anyway if it was available. I know I would.

It seems Kelleners pulled the 4.8 supercharger off the market. I checked a couple of days ago and they do not list a charger for the 4.8 any longer.

I just emailed a guy I know who is a vortech specialist to find out what options there are. He is aware of smaller shops doing custom SC's for many applications and may know something about fitting a 4.8is and doing the critical chip programming. I will let you know what he says soon as I hear back from him.

It is still listed on their website, but I did not contact them to see if they still sell it.
