X5 Buying Dilemma

Okay I think I may have narrowed it down to 2 X5's finally! They are basically identical. Both silver with premium wheels and all the packages (sport, premium, cold weather, premium speakers, ect...) Here is my dilemma, One of the X5's "car A" has a 2 year extended warranty and is a CPO and has a panoramic roof. The other X5 "car B" does not have both of those but instead has navigation and parking sensors. They both have about 56,000 miles and look to be in just about the same condition. Both clean title same interior and are identical except for the items listed above. What one would you take? I know this is all personal opionion but I'm just trying to get an idea. I think im leaning towards the CPO and warranty because most people who have NAVI don't seem to use it, but who knows. Thanks for your opinions!

Go with the CPO/panoramic. Had parking sensors on a Ford Expy (needed with that beast), but no need here and nav ... you can fit an aftermarket in with a lot less hassle. My 2 cents.

What year and engine?

They are both a 2004 and 4.4's. How much would it cost to throw a BMW navi in there, any idea/guess?

It's not that hard to find an X5 with all the options you're looking for. Just wait a little.

Well I'm on a budget and if I wanted the CPO, navigation, PDC, and panaramoic roof, and low miles I would be out of my budget... So its kind of one or the other.

Well only, early 04 model X5's didn't come with Pano roof's. So just look for a slightly newer production date unit. The fact that Pano roof was standard a few months into production isn't going to increase the price.

If those are the only two X5's you can get, go with the CPO one. I have an '03 with parking sensors and I find it very annoying. I have to keep turning them off because they beep at me when I already KNOW I'm close to something. (Like pulling out of my own garage, for example.) That CPO and 2-year warranty will give you a LOT of peace of mind, and with 56K miles, it could save you some ca$h.

But I also agree with Vinuneuro - there are a TON of X5's out there. If you keep looking, you're certain to find the right one for the right price.

As a computer tech, I love the idea of having Nav, but unless I'm traveling away from my home area, would I be likely to use it? Probably not. I have a PDA and a cell phone that both have GPS and Navigation functions, and I don't use either one. What does that say about me?

Good luck in your search!

Dave

"Car A" 110% no contest. The warranty on these things are invaluable. I bought an 02 4.4 with 65k on it last year. So far the warranty has covered around $4-$5K in repairs. I happen to have the navigation and it really doesn't get used very often. The newer window mount nav systems should work better for you if you really plan on using it very often. I don't think you will get live traffic updates, text to speech all the points of interest you can get with the newer systems. Also, keep in mind that the nav equipped X's come with a cassette deck, no CD players. Mine came with an aftermarket CD changer, but it may be something for you to think about when shopping.

Good choice in vehicles. The 4.4 is a blast to drive, but GET THE WARRANTY if you can.

Thanks for all the help. I was defiently leaning towards the CPO vehicle and this may have just pushed me over the edge. These are the two I have narrowed it down to over the past couple months and they seem like the best deals. thanks for all your help

CPO! It saved me close to 900 dollars in repairs already, and I got the car at the beginning of the year!
