Haven't asked for help in a year

All of a sudden when we leave the driveway there is a loud squeaking noise
which sounds like the suspension. I decided to open the hood and here is my question. To the front lower right of the engine cover there are cables in a clip coming up from below. The rear one which is not smooth but has grooves
goes under the BMW engine cover. The front smooth one comes forward up in the air and bends 180 degrees like a hook and just sits there in midair between the engine and the fan. Has it always been there and I never noticed it. If this is not enuf info I can take a photo. I guess I have to go to the dealer about the initial squeaking.
