Replacement Tray for Mobile Phone "Dock"

Hi All,
Has anyone had experience with replacing the mobile phone "dock" compartment (top tray of the center console), with a tray the will work for other types of storage? - Either just a flat "bin" or... does BMW or any aftermarket company make something that just swaps out the phone insert?
I have no use for the phone doc (use a "crazor" type flip phone), and would like to use the storage space. Thanks

Check out Bimmernav.com website. They sell blank trays (it's called an "eject box") with and without the pairing button for your phone. when I bought my BT phone equipment from them, I got a blank tray because I didn't need the phone cradle type of eject box.

I think this is the page you want to check out: http://www.bimmernav.com/store/catal...s-item-96.html

Call them and ask how you can buy just the part you need. They're great to work with.

Just checked out th' Bimmernav site, ExJeep... only thing I could find that related was called a "snap in", nothing listed as "eject box" for E53's, and no search window on site... what they show for "snap in" mounts ON TOP of the console, or replaces the leather/vinyl top that exist on mine - wont work... the phone mount I want to replace is first layer UNDER closed top.... any other suggestions? Thanks !

Yeah, Dave, that's th' same page I was on, at Bimmernav.... that console has the tray/charger mount on TOP, mine's a flip up compartment, under the top console cover, above the CD storage box... I'll try givin' 'em a call tomorrow, see if they have anything else that would work... just outa curiosity, is the one you installed with your bluetooth on TOP as well, or like mine ?

The pictures on their site show different types of armrests, since they sell items for many types of BMWs. The one that looks like it's open on top is from an E39. For an E53 with the flip-top lid armrest, the tray goes under the lid, and isn't visible with the lid closed. That's what I have. The "snap in" is the tray module, and it snaps into the eject box.

Call them, tell them what you own, and what you want. They'll have it. Trust me.
