Tranny on '00 - Coming isssues?

I've had my '00 4.4 for 4 years, now at 96,000 miles. Standard issues up to this point. I love the car, and the 4.4. What should I expect from the tranny going forward? I will keep the car forever, but hear some folks on this forum talking about $8k tranny replacement issues. Opinions please...

Well, 8-ball says if you continue to drive your X, your tranny will break some time in the future and it will be expensive to repair.

Not sure how anyone can predict what will happen to your car. Some trannys break at 30k and one guy here has nearly 200k on his without ever changing the fluid. There really isn't anyhting you can do to prevent it from breaking. If you plan on keepin the X forever, I would start a savings account for repairs.

Change your tranny fluid and cross your fingers.
Mine costed me about 7 to replace.
I had a little less milage than you when it happened.

I was up in the air about changing my ATF fluid, but have deceided to leave it alone. Here is a link to a thread regarding the whole ATF fluid change question.

ATF to change or not to change... ( 1 2 3)
