Confused on Ipod Integration... Help?

Hey, I want to get an iPod Integration kit. I have navigation and a cd changer. I want one that I can control the ipod on the navi screen and have it show song information ect... but also if at all possible also be able to control it with the iPod. I heard with some the iPod is locked when plugged in? And, finally is there any way I can keep my cd changer or does it HAVE to get removed? THanks!!
