Is there a BMW NA rotor upgrade available for E53?

A friend of mine mentioned that BMW has upgraded peformance rotors available for his 2004 330 xi, and that he's getting them installed at the dealer next week. Same size dimensions as his original rotors, but supposedly both drilled and cross-slotted.

At the risk of sounding ignorant, are there upgraded rotors available for the E53 directly from BMW? I'm not talking about 3rd party upgrades (i.e. Brembo, etc.) which I know there are plenty out there.

not yet but there has been talk of adding OEM performance part options from the dealer, the 3 series and the z4 line I believe are the only 2 that have the option right now, hopefully we will get something like that soon

They're not going to create new parts for models that aren't even produced anymore. Will they make them for the E70? I can't see that happening considering it's the suv of the lineup; I'm sure there will be plenty for the X6.

Only upgrade, using OE BMW parts, that I know of would be converting your 3.0 or 4.4 front brakes to the 4.6is / 4.8is front brakes (rear's are all the same). I've looked into this and the retail cost runs around $1600. I can only imagine that it would brake better.
