Side View Mirror Question

Hi X5 gurus,
I just bought a 2003 BMW X5. Could you please help me with following two questions?
1--While I reverse, the pessenger side rear view mirror tilt down but driver
side don't. Is it supposed to be this way or there is something wrong with my driver side rear view mirror?
2--Driver Side Mirror casing is little losse so while driving it shakes a bit. Is there any magic to stop this shaking?

Any help will be really appreciated.
Thanks

Hi! For your first question, I think your answer can be found in this thread :

http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e53-forum/...er+side+mirror

As for your 2nd question, this could be it :

The "Search" feature of the site will be able to help you in any of your future needs.

Good luck!

Thanks for the second answer, It really helped me.
As far as the first answer , I did search and saw that thread but its not clear from that thread whether driver side mirror tilts while in reverse gear or not.
Thanks a lot for your help
I also have the same color with 20 inch rims

welcome rockromantic..... I also have on 03 X, to the best of my understanding just the passenger side tilts down.. or else my drivers side has never worked!!! it took me a few weeks to figure out that i could turn that feature on and off...... simply by moving the power mirror adjuster.... i was dumbfounded when I figured that out... this is my first bimmer tho, and even tho I have had it for a few years i still learn stuff all the time.... good luck, BROST

It's so you don't hit the curbs when parking and ruin your tires and wheels. Seeing that we are in the U.S., curbs are usually on out right, unless for some instances you are on a one way street where you can park on the left as well.
