Rattling in cargo area not the hatch????

Hey guys...

Ok I did a search and most common problem is the hatch, but it is not the hatch it is my sliding cargo shelf. I put paper between the cables and the shelf, and put extra electrical tape under the spare tire lid (thin pressboard that is carpeted) and I still have the rattle. I was hitting the shelf itself while locked down and while raised, and it seems to becoming from the shelf it self?? Is there any layers in the shelf? I am puzzled and now that I tried to fix it and hear it every time I am in the car it drives me crazy! Anyone?? Help me out pleeeeze!
