Thickness of M-tech steering wheel?
I've searched, some members said it's just little bit, slightly thicker than OEM Sport PKG steering wheel, and other members said it's way thicker than OEM. I was thinking to upgrade my steering wheel, but if there is small difference, I'll just drive my current stock Sport steering.. so, what's the truth and how do you like it? (if you have one installed!) btw, I'm asking this steering wheel..

I have this one (bought from Ebay.de, Sept.2007)
It's EXCELLENT, thicker than OEM but feels good!!! It's not something that's gonna bother you (not THAT TICK I mean)... Take it! Last edited by asot; 04-01-2008 at 04:24 AM. |

I can measure circumference of the wheel and give you the numbers later today, if you want...
But it's thick, you'll love it... Costed about EURO 175 (plus postage) similar to this http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=320219243638 (same seller) |

Its not just the thickness but the leather quality(nappa) on this steering is much better than stock sports wheel. Steved(first installer here) had given a good description in his post.

I did a measure test with Steved waaaay back when he first installed the M wheel in his X and we found out that the M wheel's circumference (thickness) is double that of the regular sport wheel. I think Steve even mentioned that in one of his posts somewhere...
I'd highly recommend it - the difference is major and you'll love it. I just installed one in my new 335i as well - first mod I did.

X5jay sold me the exact same wheel but with SSG and they feel thicker than my perforated wheel (could be just me), but overall, like what lemans said, its the leather quality, nappa makes it feel better.
EDIT: Wuzin, you are free to come to look and feel my steering wheel.
