paging TurnAround....
Did Nick ever get your spacers straightened out? Ordered mine Monday and I still don't even have a tracking number for the order so can't tell if they're enroute 5 days later. Was expecting them this week but obviously that didn't happen. How are you making out?

I called Nick and left a message. He called back and got my VM at work, and left a nice message that was detailed and explained that he would have H&R send the correct parts (and verified the number on the message). I had also requested a free RS label to ship back the wrong part. He seemed happy to help and has sent me an email with the bar coded label. According to his message the original package was dropped shipped from H&R and not JLevi, and that H&R had made the mistake on the part numbers. I can confirm the H&R spacer box came in an outer box, indeed from H&R. So, apparently they grabbed the wrong parts and it is only coincidence to our research efforts trying to nail down the right parts. It was kinda odd.. I was holding the identical parts I had just installed on my 3.0i Coupe just one week earlier. Uhhh... guys.. I can tell from just sniffing this that it won't fit on the X! heheheee.. I'm confident that it will all work out. Ordered the Continental CrossContact UHP performance tires today. Cool. |

Will be interested to hear your thoughts on the Conti's. My Michelins are horrible. Still pretty new but tramline on every road imperfection. And one is bad and causing a horrible pull. Heck, my track 911 with -2.5 degrees camber and R-compound track tires is less sensitive to road crown than the 19" Diamaris. Have had great luck with Toyo tires including on the 911 so may try the Proxes ST on the X5. We'll see how I make out with the H&R's if I ever get them.

This is my '02 Z3 Coupe 3.0i that I'm referring to. That's my fav. I just replaced the suspension with a TC Kline Racing kit. Custom valved for TCK, Koni SA shocks and VVS alloy springs. Shaved 6 pounds of unsprung weight off the front and 4 off the rear. The install was tough for me.. not having a lift, but I managed to get through it without injury! I pushed out the rear wheels by 25mm and the fronts by 10mm. It all just baaaarely misses the paint. hehhee... You know what's another classic Bimmer that I love is the E9. Predecessor to the 3.0CSi. Man, that car is so cool looking. Can you imagine what people were thinking when it came out.. It must have looked like the Jetsons. The Bauhaus future is now! I'l love to have one. Quite rare.. in good condition though. |

Sounds like you made yourself a Z3-M. Friend had an M Coupe that was a blast to drive on the track. Was her street car to complement her 993 C4S track car. TC Kline certainly knows BMW suspensions.
E9- the old body style that got my attention as a kid in dealership showroom. But I distinctly remember going into the dealer back in 73 with my dad who was picking up a new Bavaria. There was a CS in the showroom and I recall him making some comment about the $6800 price being outrageous for a "2 door car with no back seat." Spoken like a guy with 3 kids. I was 16 at the time and not allowed to touch the Bavaria- was relegated to driving the Pontiac wagon. But that was the first of a dozen BMW sedans he got over the years; the last one he bought was an E39 528 which I now drive as my commuter car. But I wish he had bought that CS, imagine it's value today.
