replacing intake manifold 4.4L model

seems there's a bit a of leak on the intake manifold and the mechanic has said the whole thing needs to be replaced instead of just the old gaskets.

Any truth to this? I looked at ebay and I saw intake manifold gaskets for sale. thanks!

I find that very unlikely. Gaskets, Yes. Hoses, Yes. The actual manifold, hard to imagine.
