Power headrest comfort seat not working

Just found out that the driver side power headrest is not working. When the button is pushed, I can feel the motor running inside the seat back. but seems like the headrest is not connected properly to the motor, I can easily pull it out. The passenger side is working without problem.
Is there a fix for this? thanks!
this is for a 2001 with comfort seats.

This used to happen on E34's.
The cable to adjust the reclining part of the seat and the headrest used to come loose. There was a fix for this. You can search the E34 forums and I will also see if I have the write up somewhere.
