in call phone volume problem 2005 x5

wondering if anyone can help - i have just bought a 2005 X5 with wide screen sat nav and i can't get the in call volume on the unit to go past a certain volume. its ok a low speed but once your up at 40mph+ its just too quiet. the volume knob on the nav and steering wheel adjusts the in call volume up and down but just not enough in the louder department. i've been reading thro' a few of your posts and it looks like there might be some 'hidden' settings i can adjust can anyone advise on this?
thanks
