New Style 214's installed

Just picked up an 06 4.4i with 29k miles for my wife and so far we love it! (Black/Black, Sport pkg, cold climate pkg, comfort seats, NAV, 19" sport wheels, etc).

We always put custom wheels on our cars, but I was having one heck of a time deciding what to do with the X. After searching the forums, I came to the same conclusion that many others have - BMW makes some of the best looking wheels for this car that I have ever seen from a manufacturer and I was unable to find any aftermarket wheels that I preferred. This is the first time that has ever happened!

So we decided to go with the 20" 214's from the new E70, but then another strange thing happened... I wanted them in chrome

I can't explain it, I usually hate chrome as it is way too for my tastes, but it seemed to be just the right amount of 'show' to go with an all black X.

I know a lot of forum members still do not care for chrome - which is certainly each person's prerogative, but I thought I'd share a few before and after pics...

Not sure about the 214's in chrome, but that's why it's yours and not mine!

Welcome to the world!

Still can't understand what it was about the chrome, but I really love 'em!

Here's some of our past choices, never used chrome, although you can tell we are big fans of the polished rim/painted center look...
