Window Regulators

I have a 2001 X5 and yesterday I walked out to my car find the driver side rear window had fallen out of the track and down into the door.

Does the window regulator cause this? Does it happen often? How much does it usually cost to repair?

Thanks,
Mark

:xoutpost:

but let me be the first....

Do a search.. I'm sure there's alot of info out there on the window regulator. This has probably happened to someone else already. Good luck.

Its most likely your window regulator.

If you get the dealer to do it for you, have a good 300-400 bucks in your wallet. If you have the mechanical ability to do it yourself, $120 max...but much less if your dealership doesn't bend you over backwards for parts like some of the ones out here in So. California.

You can do a search and do the fix listed, and you might not have to pay for anything execpt for a few zip ties.
