Battery Light

My battery light is cmoing on and staying on for a few minutes, then after driving it a bit its going off.

This just started happening since installing our Angel Eyes.

Any advice/tips on things I could do before taking it to a mechanic?

From what I know, when the battery light comes on, that means the battery is not being charged. After running a few tests, I concluded that my alternator was going out.

2004 x5 3.0i.... Only 61k miles before my alternator went out. That was just unbelievable.

Best thing to do is disconnect the power to the angel eyes you installed and see if the battery light still comes on. If it does, then your alternator may be going out or your drive belt may be loose or wearing out. If the light does not come on after disconnecting power to the angel eyes, then it may be related to the way you wired them.

I had this issue with my 330 E46 but mine sometimes did not go off, car would start and preform as normal.
It turned out to be bad ground from battery to the chassies.
So i removed the ground cable from the battery and the chassie cleaned it and cleand the contats on the batt as well as the chassie. I had no issues after that.

My altenator ended up going a couple days later. The mechanic suggested I get a 140amp altenator as my angel eyes required more power. In the end I did..
