I would say yes. The alignment will cost less than a set of fronts.

My initial thought would also be yes, but not sure. Did you go aftermarket or OEM?

Installed OEM Control arm, I was thinking to get aftermarket (Febi) one, but decided to go with OEM since I didn't get any feedbacks of Febi

Front Axle & Steering: wheel/chassis alignment must be carried out

According to TIS:
A wheel/chassis alignment must be carried out after the following work:

Release of following screw/bolt connections
  • Steering gear to front axle carrier
  • Control arm to front axle carrier
  • Support bearing to body(if centering pin is missing)
Replacement of following parts:
  • Front axle carrier
  • Steering gear
  • Gaiter(if the tie rod end has to be screwd off)
  • Control arm / rubber mount
  • Support bearing(if centering pin is missing)
  • Swivel bearing
  • Tie rod end
  • Tie rod
