V1 and S1 question?

What to do both mods at the same time.

Where is the best place to hardwire the V1?
I like to have it up high near visor and was going to use the mirror console mod to do this but I also have to run a wire to the S1 module?
Should I hardwire everything at the mirror then run a wire own to the S1? Or hardwire everything underdash including S1 then run a wire to the V1?

Thanks

I put the Valentine up near the mirror and ran the cable for the S1 down to main console, cut out some of the styrofoam on the underside of the cover and mounted there near the base of the steering wheel where it connects into the X5's bus. Others have mounted the S1 up in the headliner. Your choice. One advantage of my location is that the S1's upgrade cable is connected and can be pulled through the brake opening without removing the cover.

All the required hardware is included with your purchase.

Just to give you another idea.... I left the S1 up in the headliner. When I need to access the upgrade cable, I pop out the light, remove a couple of torx screws, and can pop out the cable. Takes about 2 minutes to get to the cable and about 3 to put it away.

A great mod!!

How often do you have to upgrade the S1?

I mounted the S1 in the left rear compartment, under the CD changer. Very easy to tap into the IBus there, and got power for the V1 power block from the audio amp, near the CD changer. Then ran the 4 conductor telephone cable from the compartment under the plastic door sills, and up the "a" pillar. V1 is on the right sun visor. Works great.

I have the S1 installed in the headliner as well and tucked the upgrade cable along the headliner/windshield and have the connector tucked in the corner by the A-piller. Easy access and still out of sight.

I think there have been four upgrades since I purchased mine when they first came out. However, they probably won't be as frequent in the future. User-upgradeable has been a great feature. I sent in my detector to the get the latest upgrade.
