Tranny Service at 100,000?
2000 4.4 - Just picked up the X5 from my indy shop for an alternator replacement ($700 and change, not bad, including belts and BMW alternator). I like to ask the wrench-turners their opinion on things. I am already on the schedule for a waterpump replace (per everybody's opinion on his site), and asked these guys "what's next if I want to keep the car for a while". He recommended a tranny fluid replacement. Yes, I know, it's supposed to be "lifetime", but whose "lifetime"? So, is it "ain't broke, don't fix"? Or, do it now before it's too late?
