Rough downshifts...

Noticing that her tranny is dropping into lowest gear with an abrupt bump while coming to a stop (2nd to 1st). I've done a search and came accross the infamous "rear end bump" some were experiencing. Seems there was some type of transmission re-programing upgrade for the 4.4i...

Any 4.6is/4.8is owners experience this and is such an upgrade available for Simone (X)?

Yes there is an SIB documenting the problem and the fix.

my dealer recently upgraded my tranny software too, but I have to be honest I haven't driven the X in 2.5 months it's been sitting in my garage in FLA and it was delivered to the house so I have yet to test and see if it was fixed. I'll let you know in a week when I'm back in FLA

Use 30 secs reset method. It will solve the problem.
-Turn key to position 2. But dont start the engine.
-Floor the gas pedal for 30-40 secs.
-Release the gas pedal, step on brake and start the engine.
-Drive FORWARD (Not reverse, so make sure you are out of your garage before you attempt to do the transmission reset)

Do this every other month or when the transmission start slamming again.

NOVAX5...this seemed to do the trick!!! Ran a few errands this afternoon and no more rough downshifts. thanks for the feedback...

Is it safe to assume that an upgrade is not required? Would like to know more about this SIB...
