Thumbs down Unknown accessory connectors

Just bought a 2002 X5 4.4 ... pretty much loaded with everything (except running boards). While running the wires to install a hitch I discovered in the rear left side of the vehicle (by the CD changer), below the plastic cover some connectors that seem to be after market stuff. There is a 25-pin connector (the one that would connect to a serial port on a computer) and two small coaxial connectors (one male, one female ... not plugged into each other, although they would fit). I was wondering what that might be ... Any suggestion? Thanks.

That is a pre-wired telephone interface, never really caught on in the US. If you install Bluetooth in the hear future - you will be plugging into that specific connector.

Cool. Will it work by just buying the bluetooth module and plugging it in? That would be really great.

No, you will still need a complete kit and adapter harness for that DB25 connector.

Our Bluetooth kits support the following functions:

- Voice Activated Dialing
- Phonebook Synchronization
- SMS Text Message Display (depending on carrier)
- Name Recognition
- Voice Activated Navigation (vehicles equipped with NAV)
- Digital Notepad

And most importantly - does not void factory warranty, since we are using only Genuine BMW parts.

More information on the kits can be found on our website:

Let me know if you have any further questions.
