Two issues!

First issue, my radio no longer gets any form of FM reception but the AM is perfectly fine. All of the settings are correct, what could it be?

Second issue, the passenger lower brake/rear light keeps going out intermittently and has been burning through bulbs in a fairly short amount of time, 1-2 months each.

First Issue: Antenna has become unplugged.
Second Issue: almost certainly faulty bulb holder. Clean or replace.

How do I reconnect the radio antenna? I cleaned off the bulb holder and it works no problems now.

Not exactly sure how its connected on the BMW's but either you have a split antenna cable connection (ie you have a little bit of antenna cable sticking out the back of the radio unit with a female connector on it) or you have a female connector socket at the back of the radio. Either way you will need to pull the radio unit out and check the back of it. Might just be a poor connection or out completely.

I had bulbs dying............ ended up looking at them a little closer before just replacing them......... noticed the filament was fine, but the contact area was corroded. Cleaned it up and *blam* .......... everything was fine again. $0 fix.
