E61Silver is an unknown quantity at this point
What is your current ride, if you don't need new wheels I would wait until September. My bet is that with increased fuel prices we will see large rebates this fall. This will drive down used pries as well.

If it does not drive right don't get it, might of been in a wreck.

If you are really after a V8, or even the fine 3.0, patience should
be employed, as time and lower prices are on your side, imo.

I too am watching and waiting. Looking for a 06-05 4.8 ~30Kmiles, Blue or Red, Sport seats, no nav, dsp, under $38K, clean

Local would be nice too.

Nope, and many don't have the sport seats.

I dont need a new ride immediately, but will grab one if I can find a good one. Probably I will take your advice and wait couple of months before I bite the bullet unless I go out and do an impulsive buy.

About the steering wheel, I never tried 4.4 and not sure if all ofthem are heavy or just this one

Yes the steering is heavy. The 4.6is and 4.8is has servotronics, which makes it easy to steer.
I think (not sure), but 2005 and earlier may have this as an option.

Three things I hate about my X5 - heavy steering, weak navigation system and the bluetooth module.
Everytime you purchase a new phone is seems to be incompatible with the BMW ULF module. The module can cost over $500. BMW should provide a firmware upgrade not a $500+ hardware upgrade. Ha!
I do love my X5, it is so sexy.
