Water Pump & O2 Sensor DIY!?
Also do I need a special tool for the O2 sensor removal? I tried looking in the articles seciton but no luck. Thanks guys! |

They can and have been done by other DIYers. You need a O2 sensor adapter which you can get at any autoparts/tools supplier.
Have a look on the 3 & 5 series boards on the web as the procedure should be the same for all modern 3.0L engines.

here is an DIY for 3.0i on 3 series, but it the same for 3.0l X5
http://www.tuningemotion.com/forum/s...ead.php?t=2471 for o2 sensor you need this tool. (Click for a larger image) Makes removal of the old sensor and installation of the new sensor a snap. Turns easily using a 3/8 in square-drive ratchet or socket extension. The slotted design is made to fit over the sensor wire. For use on all Bosch brand oxygen sensors. I found that same post! IT is very helpful. Thanks for confirming it will work for my engine.
Is it easy to locate each other O2 sensors if I find the headers on the passenger side? |
