Quick Question for X5 sub addition

I have a non DSP radio with the business CD on a 3.0. Assuming I have no amp, what is the easiest way to add a hidden sub with no deck upgrade.

I have checked the boards and searched, but have not found a seamless explanation. Any help, would be appreciated.

Thank You

Easiest way is to buy the BSW sub and amp combo. No need to replace anything. I just bought one and will be installing it soon.

You will add the factory amp into the new amp and they will run together. The sub will go in the hidden compartment on the right side of the trunk.

Much Appreciated! Not to sound to cheap, but are there any alternatives that won't run 600+; I was thinking a DIY that maybe someone completed?

I made my own Sub box out of MDF and fibreglass for around £40 ($80) and bought a new Kenwood Amp for £35 ($70) and an infinity 10" rererence sub for £50 ($100) and cable etc £12 ($24) which came to a very reasonable £137 ($274)

I have the same setup as you and added an amp and sub to my system for much cheaper than the "pre-packaged" systems. I used this DIY page:

http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/s...ctory-amp.html

to get the info for wiring the amp and then I just made my own sub box. First one I made fit into the right side storage area, but it only housed an 8" speaker. Then I installed a 10" right into the door of the same storage area, using the storage area itself as the box, but I have not been happy with it recently. I plan on just building a box for the 10" once I get the X back from the body shop.

These options are much more speed. Do either of you have some pics to go along? I would certainly like to attmept this on my own.

Sorry, I thought I had posted on here about my install, but I could not find it. Again, my X is in the body shop, so it will be a few weeks before I get any pics. Essentially I used the instructions in that link I posted for wiring the amp, installed it where my CD changer used to be and then fabricated my sub setups. There is a separate forum for stereo info - you might want to look there for more info.

Yeah, I was getting quite a bit of vibration out of it when it was hitting hard.
